The programme is ideal for those who do not meet the entry requirements for direct entry onto an honours degree. Following successful completion (including any additional progression requirements) of the Foundation Year you can progress on to the first year of Forensic and Analytical Investigation with Integrated Master’s.**Start Dates**We offer a September and January entry point onto this course. (Applicant information for January 2022 entry can be found on the 2021/2022 pages.)The closing date for applications to the September 2022 entry point is the 15th January (unless otherwise stipulated) and the closing date for applications for the January 2023 entry point is the 20th December 2022. Telephone: +44 (0)1782 734010 Email: admissions@keele.ac.uk.**Forensic and Analytical Investigation MSci**Along with an education in the core areas of forensic science and investigation, you will gain an in-depth theoretical and practical understanding of analytical techniques, not only to analyse forensic evidence, but within industry in general.This four year undergraduate master’s course will provide you with a broad education in the core areas of forensic science and investigation. Your studies will focus on key topics in forensic chemistry, analytical science, forensic biology and criminalistics science. This is complemented by study of the overarching forensic process, from the crime scene to the court, which includes additional emphasis on professional practice and an understanding of the roles of the crime scene investigator and the forensic scientist as an expert witness in the court. Throughout your studies you will gain a wide variety of skills that will enable you to work independently.In addition to the laboratory skills that you will develop as part of the programme, you will also gain many transferable skills that are valued by employers, including team working, communication and problem-solving skills. Our hands-on teaching approach, coupled with modern laboratories, ‘real-life’ crime scene facilities and industry standard equipment, means that you will be extremely well equipped to enter the workplace at the end of your studies.This course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences.
