The MSc Project Management was the first of its kind in Wales to be officially approved by the Association for Project Management (APM).Our Project Management course develops a deeper understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of project, programme and portfolio management. It facilitates the essential skills and competences necessary to plan, monitor, control and deliver successful projects.It focuses on developing skills for careers in project management, including both theory and applied aspects, and is mapped against key professional body competencies.We intend to deliver our courses in a blended format; with a proportion of the teaching and learning being delivered digitally, and where it is safe to do so, some teaching and learning being delivered in person and using social distancing and/or mitigating measures as deemed appropriate in line with government guidance.AssessmentA mix of assessment methods are used, including individual essays and reports, group projects and reports, presentations, seminars and an individual dissertation or project.CareersGraduates from this MSc Project Management course may:Develop a career in a project management based role or environmentAlready work in such an environment but seek to formally recognise their workHave the knowledge base, organisational and analytical skills to pursue a career as a project or programme manager, portfolio manager, working in a project management office (PMO), or as project administrator or project workerHave developed applied research skills in order to pursue advanced research study and further professional qualificationsGraduates can also progress to a PhD or research degree.
