OverviewThis one-year full-time programme will give you the psychological knowledge and research skills needed to pursue doctoral level studies in psychology and to enhance your psychology career.Academic staff within the School of Psychology, together with occasional visiting speakers, teach a valuable set of modules in practical research skills such as project management, quantitative and qualitative research, and statistics.There’s also a major, supervised empirical study component and a research dissertation to submit.Why School of Psychology?Breadth and choiceReflecting our main research strengths, we offer two one-year, full-time, taught Masters (MSc) programmes in:Investigative and Forensic PsychologyResearch Methods in Psychology.Career prospectsOur programmes aim to provide students with a high level of academic and analytical skill, making them suitable for careers or further postgraduate study in a number of areas. Graduates have had a choice of possibilities, including: Joining research teams as research associates in many areas, such as Applied Psychology and Criminology Working in the substance misuse field Clinical training Becoming members of police forces as “civilians” involved in intelligence work or as police officers Working in prisons or with clinical forensic populations working in commercial or industrial research and development units.
