MChem (Hons) Chemistry for Drug Discovery with Industrial Placement

Major pharmaceutical companies have contributed to the design of the course so you can be sure that you will gain experience in areas that are of interest to industry.You’ll develop in-depth knowledge of the drug design process, and the skills to carry out experimental and computational drug discovery projects. You’ll also be able to specialise in areas that interest you most with optional units and a research project. There will also be opportunities for you to put your chemistry knowledge into practice in research laboratories and other professional environments outside the University.The Master of Chemistry (MChem) provides you with the same core skills and knowledge of the bachelor’s but with a greater exposure to research and advanced practical techniques, including a major research project throughout the final year.PlacementGoing on placement gives you the opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge to a year working in industry. You’ll be employed full-time in a role to match your future career ambitions, broadening your experience and transferable skills.
