The Interactive Media and Web Technologies course responds to an increasing demand in the creative industries for imaginative individuals with a flair for developing creative user interfaces combined with web and media content development skills. Graduates will apply key programming, media production, scripting, user experience design and web development skills in creative contexts, and also contribute to exciting interactive media projects using emerging technologies such as virtual and augmented reality. The course is practically focussed with an emphasis on the production of industry ready portfolio material. Web and Interactive Media Technology is informed by theory and practice in visual information design in many forms including, but not limited to: User experience design, web development, digital media and photography, video, 2D and 3D graphics, animation and the transmission of that content through Information and Communications Technology (including, but not limited to, Streaming Media, ‘smart’ television, web data services, smart devices, information displays, museum displays, AR and VR interfaces). The course will enable students to pursue careers including: * Web Developer * User Experience Designer * Mobile App Developer * Digital Media Producer * Content/Asset Creator for video games * 3D Animator * Motion Graphics Designer
