BA (Hons) English Literature
Our English Literature programme gives you the opportunity to study a wide range of literary forms, genres and themes from the early medieval period to the present day.You will gain insights into the ways in which literatures in English have developed through history, while also having the opportunity for in-depth study of genres such as children’s literature, noir and gothic fiction.In each year of a Major (75%) English programme, you will choose 90 credits from our range of English modules.This programme is available with a Year in China. The Year in China allows undergraduate students the opportunity to spend one year at our joint venture, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), following XJTLU’s BA China Studies degree classes. XJTLU is a fully English-speaking university, located in Suzhou. If you wish to study this programme with a Year in China please put the option code YC in the Further Choices section of your UCAS application form.This programme is available with a Year in Industry. Year Three is spent on a paid placement within an organisation in industry, broadly defined. You will be supported by the School of the Arts and the Department throughout, and your reflexive written account of the experience will contribute towards your final degree result.
